Ethical SEO – What Is It?

Ethical SEO is what today’s post is all about – but remember, if you missed our last posting about England SEO (Not Just Any England SEO Company), you can read it by clicking here.

Ethical SEO – the lowdown

In a very general sense, there are two separate approaches to search engine optimisation. One approach emphasises tricks, dubious tactics, and short-term results. The second approach, what we like to call ethical SEO, emphasises a long-term approach that may take a little bit longer to establish and to start generating results, but is the only real approach that should be used as it can stand the test of time and produce ongoing results for many months and years into the future. Needless to say, we strongly believe in ethical SEO at HP Net Services and think that this is the best approach for you and your business – so much so that this is all we have ever and will ever use.

Ethical SEO – Following the guidelines

Primarily, ethical SEO relates to conforming to the guidelines stipulated by the various search engines – this can be for both on page seo and off page seo. In terms of on page SEO (you can see our ethical SEO on page packages by clicking here), ethical SEO covers factors such as keyword density and not hiding text to human visitors by camouflaging it within the background colours of the actual website.

Off page SEO (you can see our ethical SEO off page packages by clicking here) relates to the methods used to build back-links from one site to another. This can be done automatically using programs or manually by using humans (the manual way has proven time and time again to be the most efficient and safest approach to link building – and the only one we use). Another guideline is to use unique content at all times when adding it to a web-page (e.g. new text on a page or new blog post). Again there are programs within the marketplace that will add content to a website or blog automatically – but again this method tends to fail the ethical SEO guidelines as it tends to be, more often than not, sourced from other websites and hence not be unique (a big thumbs down from the search engines for this one).

Ethical SEO – patience is key

Ethical SEO from HP Net ServicesEverybody wants results that are instant in nature – this is just purely and simply human nature. However, the desire for instant results within the context of search engine optimisation can sometimes lead to disaster. Far too often, search engine optimisation professionals will abandon their principles and engage in highly questionable tactics that ultimately harm their clients and the clients businesses. While some of these tactics might initially show some good results, these results are short-lived – and even worse the reputation of the website within the search engines is ruined!

By contrast, companies like ours that engage in ethical SEO techniques may initially struggle with showing our customers overnight success and results (although this itself depends on a number of factors, e.g. keywords, competition, market niche, etc.) but our clients are literally thrilled by the long-term results they are able to get. This is a direct result of the fact that all of our search engine optimisation techniques follow the principles of ethical SEO. This is a very important principle that really needs to be understood.

Ethical SEO – what it means to you and your business

You and your company are presumably in the business of generating long-term profits. That being the case, don’t you think it’s important that ethical SEO principles be used to help your business reach its long-term goals? It really doesn’t help you if your primary website is banned from various search engines as a result of highly questionable SEO tactics being used in an effort to get that website to show up near the top of the search engine results whenever a targeted keyword or phrase is queried by a potential customer.

‘E’ is for Ethical SEO and Education

From our perspective, ethical SEO is the only real way to go when it comes to search engine optimisation. We want to be able to provide our clients with long-term benefits. This is not possible if we take a short-term approach. Not only that, but we also believe it’s important that we educate our clients as to the benefits of ethical SEO. As mentioned before, human nature is such that we all want overnight results. Therefore, we need to take a principled approach of telling our clients that it’s simply not practical to assume that a brand-new website that was just created a day ago can rank at the top of every search engine for highly competitive keywords and phrases within a week – this is certainly not a realistic expectation to establish if one is using ethical SEO strategies. The whole SEO process takes time – but with this time and solid foundation comes trust from the search engines. When you have the trust of the search engines you know you are onto a winner.

We really do feel that you owe it to yourself and to the future profits of your company to do business with a firm of search engine optimisation specialists like us who can get you fantastic long-term results. Don’t allow yourself to be seduced into believing that dubious tactics and questionable strategies are the path to long-term profitability when it comes to search engine optimisation. Only through ethical SEO can you achieve a search engine presence powerful enough to generate more success than you ever believed possible. Best of all, we can help you achieve this.
